This morning on my way home from dropping the kids off at VBS, I was confronted in the parking lot by a gaggle of geese idling along the road.
They were crossing in front of me, aimless and unaware as a group of teenage girls expanding across the corridor of a mall. All of my inching forward (and eye-rolling) was doing nothing to move them along when a stranger going about her morning appeared behind them and shooed them across for me.
I smiled, waved, and made my right turn onto the road.
I smiled the whole way home.
I called my mother and told her.
I texted my husband and told him.
I was genuinely surprised and appreciated this stranger’s simple act of kindness. I was eager to share it.
